Jessey's Run

For The Love of Jessey

Jessey was born May 5th 1991 to Jody and Sherry Morrison. Jessey enjoyed the simple things of life but most of all in his spare time riding his Harley to Ohiopyle every chance he got.  He could always be found setting on the far side of the river, Right before the falls. In deep thought probably thinking about how he could add another Grey hair to Sherry's head or what he could fix up next or what mischief he could talk Jamey and Andrew into.
It was a  beautiful unseasonably warm November day,  Jessey was out putting a few extra miles on his brand new 2014 softail Harley and was  enjoying 1 last ride of the season before the long cold winter set in just like any other biker was doing that day. On November 8th 2014 at 6pm,  Our world would be changed forever,  Jessey was tragically taken from us when he was struck and killed by a drunk driver. Jessey was only a few blocks from his home when tragedy struck he was thrown from his motorcycle, when a pickup truck failed to stop at a sign and he lost his life, at the hands of a careless drunk driver. We know that Jessey lost his life doing what he loved to do and that was riding his Harley and enjoying the freedom it gave him .
Jessey was only 23 years old at the time of his death and he had his whole life of ahead of him. Jessey wasn't only  a Son, Brother, or  Grandson but his most important role he played was a  father to 2 beauitful daughter Breanna and Cheyenne.  If you ask anyone of his friend they would still say to this day Jessey was always the life of the party he could definitely turn your frown upside-down, he would help anyone in their time of need or give you the shirt off his back.
He was a 2010 graduate from North Star Area School District. Jessey was a Truck Driver by day and biker by night, he enjoyed life to the fullest. He could always be found getting into some type of small project with his brother Jamey or his best friend Andrew or getting ready to go hunting or fishing. Setting around a fire with an ice cold Bud Light.  A few months after Jessey's untimely death. Sherry approached a few closed family friends and wanted to put together something that would keep her sons memory alive for his girls . This is how the Jessey's Run started to form its wings .
In 2016 Jessey's Run Committee or also known as "The Love For  Jessey Committee " had their first official meeting and Jessey's Run was born . It didn’t  take long for word to get out about our plan and many of our  family and friends stepped up and we came together to pull the first run together in a few short months.  Our destination was a given Ohiopyle!  Jessey  favorite place on earth. But the Run committee had a few obstacles in their way. They didn't want to make this your normal every day motorcycle run, they didn't want back track back out of the big O and taking the same road out as we took in that wasn't  even an option for us. This was a challenge for the run committee in itself, It took some mapping out, some exploring, some wind therapy for the committee, but soon they figure out how to make a beautiful scenic run and loop out of Ohiopyle. We all thank Jessey for showing us the way, and how we ever found Good Old Sugarloaf is beyond me!

The committee decided to set the date for October 8th 2016 for the first run.  So everyone could enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. Everyone knows that when planning a motorcycle run that your at the mercy of mother nature and well she had other plans for us. It was cold, wet, and foggy . But we made the best of it and we had a total of 4 bikes and a dozen vehicles. We had an absolute blast.  We made it into Ohiopyle no one seen any fall foliage that day, as the fog set thick across the mountain . As we where leaving Ohiopyle Sugarloaf was a tad bit more then challenging.  Fog was as thick as I think any of us have ever seen. You couldn't see the bike in front of you.  "See the picture " .  But we had our guardian angel riding with us .  I am sure you have heard some of the committee members still talking about the first run.  Because it will be a run for the history books .
